I believe that animal dissections are very important to have in school. Dissections help us understand the organism’s body systems and their functions.  Dissection is better than looking at a diagram because it is a hands on experiment, and you tend to remember what you learned more when you are involved in the lesson. Dissection teaches students the structures of the body parts and the differences of the functions and body systems  between other organisms.  After we dissected the worm and now the frog I understand where each body part is and how it helps the animal live.  Dissections are also a  memorable learning experience. Those are the reasons why dissection is important.

In our experiment I learned that out of  Stride, Extra, Trident, Orbit, and 5 gum the 5 gum will sustain the longest flavor. The outcome of the 5 gum was its flavor lasted 24 minutes  which was the longest amount time. The Trident only lasted 4.7 minutes which was the shortest amount of time. My favorite part about doing our experiment was chewing the gum and having a fun time. The best part about the outcome is now when I buy my gum I know which brand will last the longest and it helps decide which one I should buy. When we got done presenting someone asked us if we got all the same flavor of gum, but different brands would it change the outcome in any way.  So, I wish I knew more about that. If we would have gotten all mint in the different brands that we got that maybe the outcome would be different. That is what I wish I knew more about our experiment.

The Kilauea volcano is located in Hawaii, and is very active. I think the Kilauea volcano will continue to be active for many years. So when the years go by the magma will build up and cause the volcano to become larger and the summit will become higher. When weathering or erosion takes its course and acts on this volcano it might not cause much damage because all the eruptions that may occur will make the magma build up like I said earlier and it will even the damage out. That’s what I think the future of the Kilauea volcano will end up being.

I think the universe all began with God.  The Big Bang Theory does make sense and is a very scientific theory on how the universe began, but in my opinion it is wrong. Some people say there was a ball that exploded and everything went into place, others say there was nothing and a huge explosion happened and the universe was there, and I say that God created everything. I think that God created the universe ; if you think about it there has to be something greater that created the big bang, because it couldn’t just appear. In Genesis chapter 1 verse 1 it states that ” In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”  That verse backs up my theory that God created the universe.

Most people think the visual changes are what really changes the substance, but they forget about the  atoms and the molecules. What really happens in a chemical change is the molecules/atoms interact with another substance and the valance electrons go and take up the empty spaces in the other substance. The chemical change can be big or small, but it doesn’t matter because the two substances still react with each other and cause a chemical change. In a chemical change the signs can vary from color change to temperature change, and you just need to remember what happens to the atoms/molecules is what really matters.

It is very important to know about lab safety and to know what all the lab equipment is and what it does. When you are working in the lab you have to know what you are working with or you will not know what to do in the experiment. You also have to know how to keep yourself safe from chemicals because if you spill a chemical on you, you have to know what to do or it might hurt you really bad. When you are working with a Bunsen burner you have to make sure you know how to protect yourself from a fire.  If you don’t keep yourself safe with all the chemicals, fires, and any other dangerous items you could get yourself killed or injured, so listen to your teacher when she is talking about lab safety and keep yourself safe.

A life lesson we all need to learn is to don’t play with your phone while driving in a golf cart.  I say this because you get distracted by the phone and you end up running off the road or crashing.   When you crash because of something simple believe me you will regret that mistake. 

I told you about this life lesson because it has happened to me before.  It was the summer of 2006.   My sister and I were just riding back and forth on our road with our golf cart.  Of coarse my sister was driving, while she was driving I was playing with my dads old phone.  We were having so much fun in the summer heat playing with each other.

Just as we started going faster I dropped the phone.  I told her I would pick it up because I wasn’t driving like she was.  I guess she didn’t hear me so she went down to pick it up, too.  As we both went down we got closer and closer to the end of the road and CRASH we hit a culvert at the end of our road. I hit my head on a pole and dented the pole I also fell off the golf cart. My sister got so close to breaking a rib because she hit her chest on the steering wheel while she was grabbing me before I fell off, and she had a really good grip on my arm because it left a bruise the shape of her hand. We were rushed to the Emergency Room and I almost broke my arm, I got a concussion though and the doctor said my sister got half a centimeter away from breaking a rib.

That’s why when you’re riding or even driving a golf cart don’t play with your phone. I say this because you will regret your mistake.

I wouldn’t want to wake up one morning and not be able to see my beautiful surroundings . I chose sight because I have a wonderful gift to be able to see the wonderful creations God has put on Earth. Everyday I look around and see his creations I thank God for another day with the ability to see.  I would want to keep sight for my whole life because I can look my friends in the eyes when I talk to them, and I can see where I’m going when I walk. People that have the ability to see don’t only have sight they have a gift.

My life would be hard to survive if  I was blind.  I say that because I would need help on walking through the streets or on driving.  I would need to learn how to read brail, and I wouldn’t be able to play my favorite sports I play now. I would be living a whole different life without my eyes.
